About our speakers

Dr Lauren Bowman, Osteopath

Lauren completed her studies in Osteopathy from RMIT, graduating with a triple degree. She has returned to Canberra where she was born and raised, after spending time studying and working interstate. Lauren’s treatment approach is directly influenced by the understanding that the patient’s body has its own self-healing abilities. An Osteopath’s role is simply to facilitate the body’s own healing by improving movement, and therefore function. Lauren has gone on to undertake further postgraduate training in the application of Osteopathy for various women’s health complaints including period pain, endometriosis, pre and post-natal periods, post-surgery, and pelvic floor dysfunction. She has also completed studies in Visceral (organ) Manipulation. This has allowed her to further tailor her treatments to pelvic health conditions, as well as other complex conditions such as various digestive issues, chronic lower back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome and headaches. Lauren’s philosophy is to treat each patient as a unique individual. Her treatments are guided by experience, and there is a focus on education and rehabilitation.

Krista van Lunenburg, Counsellor

Krista is a dedicated and passionate Counsellor, who firmly believes that positive mental health is everyone’s birthright. Her counselling philosophy revolves around the belief that we are all as unique as our fingerprints, no two are the same. With this in mind, the therapeutic interventions she employs are tailored to each client’s needs. She creates a warm, inviting and safe space for her clients to explore their challenges, always treating the information she is given, with respect. She comes from Melbourne, where she ran her own Counselling service and assisted individuals with stress, anxiety, depression, life and career transition difficulties, and grief.  She also has a keen interest in inter-personal dynamics and has provided solutions based, compassionate counselling to couples and families with communication and relationship challenges. Krista is an advocate of the mind/body connection and also offers clients meditation/mindfulness practices in her sessions. She takes much pride in giving her clients the tools to navigate through life’s ups and downs, and not only survive, but thrive! Krista holds a Diploma of Counselling through the Australian College of Applied Psychology.
