The QENDO Mentor Program

  • Welcome to the QMP

We know what it's like when you first hear your diagnosis! There are SO many questions. We've been there before and we want to make those first few steps on your chronic condition journey a little less daunting!

Peer support is so important and there's where the QENDO Mentor Program comes in! The QENDO Mentor Program is a 6-week program that gives you the chance to connect with a member who has been through, or is going through a similar experience to you.

  • Progress over perfection

We know managing a chronic condition isn't the easiest of tasks! Sometimes you feel like you're crushing it and other times, it is so overwhelming. It is better to be making intentional steps and doing your best than aiming to be 100% perfect, and your QENDO Mentor is here to assist you. They will be your cheerleader, championing you every step of the way.

  • The aim

The aim of the QENDO Mentor Program is to help you, by giving you someone to talk to and connect with, so you don't feel so alone, whilst also giving you practical strategies and ideas to add to your toolkit, leaving you feeling empowered and in control.

  • QENDO is here for you

We have developed a number of tools to help you on your journey with a chronic condition and have worked hard with our community to ensure they are accessible, inclusive and supportive.

  • Our Mentors

Our mentors have been carefully selected through our recruitment process and have had to undergo support training to ensure they can provide you with the support and care you need.

The QENDO Mentor Program Philosophy

Connect with your mentor. Learn about their journey and where they've come from, and then share your experiences and story with them. Storytelling is a powerful experience helps to foster that sense of connection and trust.

Feel supported, as your QENDO Mentor listens to your questions, concerns, worries and fears. They've been there before and know how difficult it can be. Your mentor has your back every step of the way.

Explore new or existing options together, and be presented with strategies and tips to manage your condition effectively, using reputable resources.

Be empowered to make informed decisions and build your toolkit with resources, tools strategies and products that assist you with your chronic condition.

What our graduates have to say:

Just being there to chat has been the best thing for my mental health. Thank goodness for QENDO who recognised that women's health issues affect mental health too, and have put these programs in place.

- Sarah

Having someone to talk to who understands, that I can ask questions and is supportive. I've learnt so much about endo and other conditions, how to navigate the healthcare system and that having a chronic condition is so complicated, but you don't have to do it alone.

- Jacqui

I love having someone to talk to that truly understands what I go through. I have learned that there are so many things that I can try to manage my endo and that I'm not alone in my experiences.

  • Become a QENDO Mentee

We know what it's like when you first hear your diagnosis! There are SO many questions. We've been there before and we want to make those first few steps on your chronic condition journey a little less daunting! The QENDO Mentor Program is an 6-week program that gives you the chance to connect with a member who has been through, or is going through a similar experience to you.

QENDO Mentor’s are there to help you, by giving you someone to talk to and connect with, so you don't feel so alone, whilst also giving you practical strategies and ideas to add to your toolkit, leaving you feeling empowered and in control.

All that we ask is that you make yourself available throughout the 6-week program to connect and chat with your QENDO Mentor to get the most out of this program.

  • Video Application

Our application process has a few “Short-Answer” style questions as well as required personal information.

However the easiest and most personal way for us to review applications is to have you submit a short video. We understand this can be quite daunting for some people! This isn’t about how you look on camera, if you are shy, if you have a messy dining table in the background…it’s just about getting to know you 😊This process allows for quicker reviewing for our QENDO team, which allows us to take on more mentors and mentees and prioritize supporting our people.

We are using File Stage to submit and review videos. This is a FREE service so you won’t need to pay to submit, you will only need a valid email address.

Alternatively, you can email your videos directly to mentorprogram@qendo.org.au or send to QENDO facebook page via messenger.

For anyone completely unable to submit a video (for example due to tech or internet access, disability etc) please see ‘Group Interview Requirements’’.

  • Meeting Dates and Requirements

We understand that your time and energy are valuable, which is why we list these mandatory attendance dates in advance of your application.

If you read over these dates and there is 1 you are not able to attend, we can absolutely discuss and make alternative arrangements. However any more then that, and we encourage you to reach out so we can find another intake or pathway for the program.

We understand that if your application is successful and you have committed to these dates, that life also happens! We will have a backup plan for any accidental missed meetings, further information available upon successful application.

  • Group Interview Requirements

If you're unable to submit a video for the reasons mentioned above, we will offer scheduled group interviews as an alternative. To choose this option, you must be available to attend one of the sessions listed below and have access to video calls (or a phone call if video is not possible).

    29th Jan 2025

    9am-11am

    12pm-2pm

    3pm-5pm

    5pm – 7pm

When you are completing the application process, please note that you require a group interview and your requested time slot.

Please Note:

Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. To apply, simply complete the application form, and our recruitment team will review your submission and contact you if you're selected.

The QENDO Mentor Program is entirely online, making it accessible to everyone, and we welcome all applications! The program is free of charge and is fully supported by our dedicated volunteers.
